My Art Life

Everywhere there is a story. And everywhere there is a painting.

Nature, without effort or manufacture, provides us with a perfect colour palette.

Living in a beachside suburb, I’ve an expanse of nature on my doorstep and along with that endless inspiration.  I’m a free spirit. Being born in Australia I appreciate the freedom we have here. I love the outdoors, and the involvement of the senses – the smells and the sensations one experiences from nature and the feeling of the wind on my face. Being in nature is my happy place. And I’m grateful that I know what a flower smells like and how the ocean feels. Because not every person does know.

I have been a traditional oil painter for a long time, but lately I have been experimenting with acrylics to create abstract art and along with this I’ve developed a greater interest in shape and design. It’s thrilling to see what emerges on the canvas, as most of the time in my abstract works I have no preconceived idea of what I will paint and thus what will emerge.I hope you enjoy looking at my work, or having it in your home.
